About New Hope

In 1925, a few visionaries with limited resources felt led by Spirit of God to begin meeting for worship. Six years went by and in 1927 this faithful group felt lead to have a two-week revival service. Before the two week revival was over on the third Sunday in June the evangelist Reverend M.C. Montgomery called a council of the Lee Street Baptist Church Pastor & Deacons to assist with organizing what was soon to become the New Hope Baptist Church.

Throughout the years we are still growing in knowledge of our Lord through strong and consistent leadership through the Word of God. One of the ways we have grown is through becoming a “Mission-Minded” Church. We share resources through love and generosity throughout the community, across the State and Nation, and throughout the World.

Our present Pastor, Reverend Dr. William J. Reid was called to be our Pastor on the second Sunday in December, 1991. Through his prayerful leadership, God has strengthened our ministries in many ways.
