Dear Church Family and Friends,
I greet you in that marvelous, majestic name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior!
As we embark upon the season of the Savior’s birth, let us hold this time of celebration close to our hearts as we are emphatic by whom we celebrate.
The other day I was conversing with someone who shared that because of financial challenge, they would not be celebrating “the holiday season.” I shared with that person that perhaps they don’t need to celebrate “the holiday season” but they should make sure they celebrate “the Reason for the season,” which is the birth of Jesus Christ.
Many of us have become desensitized to the birth of our Savior. We have become lost in the pageantry and glamorization of the materialism.
I told that person to rise on Christmas and be thankful that Christ came, and if they have a home, food and clothes, family and friends; and most of all, the love of Christ in their heart, they will celebrate the merriest Christmas of all.
Let us not lose our focus of whom we celebrate during this season. Much love
Pastor Reid
